Description
These lightweight polymer clay earrings were born from a happy accident—abandoned clay painted with alcohol inks was left to cure in the open air for a year, creating a natural crackle texture. Inspired by the effect, I layered fresh clay beneath and enhanced the surface with shimmering mica powders to make the colors pop. The reverse side was handcrafted using five different colors, which are chopped into various sizes and shapes. Foil is added to the clay, and the pieces are compressed together into a stack. The stack is then carefully sliced to reveal intricate, unique patterns. Finished with stainless sterling silver plated earring wires that sit comfortably on the ears. Earrings are 2 1/2″ long.
To reverse them, simply open the lever-back ear wire, slide the earring piece off, and flip it to the other side for a fresh look.
